System Administrator – Linux/Unix

We, at Victor Buck Service, are looking forward to welcome a curious and talented

System Administrator – Linux/Unix (m/f)

for our infrastructure team !

Working alternatively into two shifts between 7AM and 7PM & on call services

You will, together with the infrastructure team, work on :

• Performing daily systems checks, verifying and validating the integrity and availability of hardware, resources.
• Performing performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, resource optimization, systems upgrade/patching
• Ensuring the system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures are coincident to defined business strategy.
• Reviewing and adapting disaster recovery plan and recovery procedures all along the new implementations
• Determine opportunities for improvement of services , automation
• Working with the Security team to ensure proper security controls are built into and maintained for Linux systems. Perform system administration, installation, problem isolation, and resolution on Linux/UNIX systems
• Creating and updating documentation for related tools and processes
• Participation in infrastructure projects

To be the best in the job, you need :

• 5+ years of experience with strong understanding of one or more of CentOS, RedHat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux
• Strong understanding of core Linux provisioning tools as well as networking and connectivity tools. Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Chef, terraform, Jenkins…You know where each are strong and weak. Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalent.
• Working knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS
• Experience with SQL and MySQL, Maria DB, MongoDB is a plus.
• You automate things rather than doing them twice
• Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing in English and French
• Available for planned maintenance or the occasional emergency that requires a deeper level of knowledge.
